My Story

Whether it is in or out of water, one thing you will notice about Mrs. April is her love for teaching and helping her students grow. During the day, you will find her in an elementary classroom teaching reading and by the afternoon, you will find her close to a pool deck, either helping kids swim or watching her daughter at swim team practice. Mrs. April’s daughter is a former graduate of SwimPrep and has thrived in the swimming world because of the foundational skills she built at SwimPrep.

Mrs. April became a swim instructor because of her love for the water and helping her daughter to continue to further develop her swimming skills. She loves to watch her swimmers grow in both confidence and skill. With a strong emphasis on proper technique, she works closely with each student to build solid fundamentals in all strokes, helping them improve their coordination, and become an overall better swimmer. She believes that building a strong foundation in swimming will be an essential skill that will always benefit each student in life.

When Mrs. April is not teaching or on swim mom duty, you can find her swimming and working on her own swimming skills, camping, hiking, working out at SwimPrep, and spending time with her family!
